![]() I'm using the KeePass/dropbox combo with a long passphrase these days though as I've decided that its more secure than the notebook and I can put more explicit information in there (and files), though it is somewhat nerdy so I still recommend the paper notebook for people like my mother. In the new release, you can now switch between light and dark mode without restart the application. For the time being, it comes without support for signed KeeShare containers due to dependency incompatibilities. In fact I've recently moved away from the notebook for myself because I felt that if somebody breaks into my residence and takes that notebook (not all thieves are ignorant of how valuable a password book is, especially when this contains banking passwords) then all is lost. Other interesting Mac alternatives to KeePassX are KeePassXC, KeePass, LastPass and 1Password. KeePassXC 2.6.4 now provides native ARM64 builds for the new Apple Silicon M1 Macs. ![]() You shouldnt waste your time trying to remember and type your passwords. ![]() Mac OSX comes with an excellent built-in password manager called Keychain that is just as save. I use Mac at work and mostly Windows at home, and having the data file standard allows me to keep my data. I used a natty paper notebook for years and in fact I borrowed this method from my mother who seems to feel guilty that she writes this stuff down but I try and reassure her that its ok. KeePassXC for Mac can store your passwords safely and auto-type them into your everyday websites and applications. We will cover installing KeePass on Ubuntu and Windows. KeePassX is a cross platform password manager. Keepas for Mac is an open-source random password generator and manager, helping you to manage passwords securely.
